Hockey Machine is a South Korean youth ice hockey team for players aged 7 to 6th grade, dedicated to developing elite ice hockey athletes. In 2023, Essential Hockey embarked on a significant collaboration with Hockey Machine to exchange hockey traditions, cultures, and strategies.
Essential Hockey members Riho Kim and June Eom participated in the Hockey Machine Ice Hockey Summer Camp 2023, where they provided coaching for a week. Our involvement not only introduced innovative hockey practice methods, making the sport more enjoyable for the young athletes, but also facilitated cultural exchange through activities such as trading jerseys. To ensure precise communication, we primarily used English, as it allows for more detailed explanations of hockey terminology.
Our coaching included North American-style skating training in the morning, ground-based training systems in the afternoon, and unique passing and shooting drills in the evening. This comprehensive approach over the course of a week enabled Hockey Machine players to deepen their appreciation for the sport and refine their skills in greater detail.
Through this collaboration, Essential Hockey gained valuable insights into the immense potential of South Korean youth hockey players, despite their young age. This experience reinforced our commitment to fostering the growth of ice hockey in Asia, recognizing the promising talent that lies within these aspiring athletes.
We will work with the best partners. I hope you look forward to it.
